Canetto, Silvia Sara

Silvia Sara Canetto, Ph.D., is a professor of psychology at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado, United States, where she teaches lifespan developmental psychology and gender courses. She holds graduate degrees in physiological, general, clinical psychology and gerontology from Italy, Israel, and the United States. She is the author of over 100 scholarly articles and chapters, and has published five books. Her gender and STEM research examines cultural scripts of gender and science and engineering using both quantitative and qualitative methods.  Since 2006 her gender and STEM research has been funded by the National Science Foundation. While Professor Canetto has examined gender and STEM issues across disciplines, she has devoted particular attention to womens and mens interest, persistence and success in the geosciences. Professor Canetto is Fellow of several professional societies, including the American Psychological Association, the Association for Psychological Science, and the Society for the Psychology of Women.
