Heyder, Anke

Anke Heyder is a research associate at the Freie Universität Berlin, Germany. Her research examines the role of gender stereotypes and gender identity for gender differences in academic achievement and engagement. In her dissertation project under supervision of Professor Ursula Kessels, she studies whether gender differences in educational outcomes and engagement can be traced back to adolescents’ conceptions of masculinity and femininity. The research is conducted using various methods such as experimental vignette studies, implicit association measures, and structural equation modeling.

She holds a Diplom in Psychology (M.A. equivalent) from the University of Heidelberg.
