Sainz-Ibanez, Maria

Milagros Sáinz is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute in the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. She earned her PhD (European Doctorate Degree) with honours in Social Psychology at UNED (the Spanish National Distance Learning University). In 2007 her doctoral thesis entitled Gender differences in attitudes towards new technologies in adolescents: A psychological approach was awarded by Youth Institute (an organism dependent of the Spanish Ministry of Social Issues)  with the First Prize for Doctoral Dissertations. She is author of different publications in national and international journals focused on education, gender and technology. She has been a visiting scholar at Stanford University, the Technical University Berlin and the Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan. Her research interests are related to psychosocial and motivational factors involved in girls’ and boys’ differential academic and occupational aspirations.
